When thinking about project management, there's one area that cannot be ignored: quality management. It is responsible for seeking the involvement and awareness of the entire team regarding the objective of delivering a high value-added product as the final result, which will meet the client's needs.

Quality management ensures that internal processes function effectively and, to achieve this, it points out requirements that must be met for activities to be carried out excellently.

Learn the best quality management practices and understand how they lead to continuous process improvement and a more engaged and motivated team:

How is quality management done?

Quality management is carried out through some processes, which are:

Planning

At the time of planning quality management, it is necessary to identify the quality requirements and standards required for the processes and the final product. Then, documentation is created that will be used to monitor the project performance and verify its compliance.

This process is fundamental, as it serves as guidance for doing a good job that meets all quality requirements.

Monitoring

With the goal of making quality management more efficient during the project and facilitating the identification of necessary corrections, this process involves conducting periodic audits to monitor whether requirements are being met.

At this stage, metrics are also tracked performance indicators.

Control

Controlling quality allows us to analyze the results obtained by performance indicators and structure action plans necessary to correct any deviations. With control, it is possible to identify non-conformities, failures, delays, and other gaps that could compromise the results and customer satisfaction.

What are the benefits for project management?

The adoption of these practices brings several benefits to the project and everyone involved, among which we highlight:

Allows for a more complete understanding of the project

Quality management in projects expands the understanding of client needs, making it possible to develop functionalities and solutions that add value and improve user experience based on those needs.

When the team better understands the project, the client's needs are transformed into requirements that must be met throughout the process.

Ensure more effective processes

The adoption of quality management promotes the standardization of internal processes and the use of a unique work methodology, making it easier to monitor performance indicators.

Furthermore, process optimization also occurs, which results in greater team productivity, as processes become more agile, freeing up time for employees to act more strategically.

As the team gains skill and quality by performing their activities through a roadmap, processes become more effective. Employees involved with project quality management continuously improve their performance, and their results are increasingly positive.

Increase team engagement

When the entire team engages with project quality, it increases the commitment and engagement of collaborators at all stages, as everyone feels responsible for the project's success.

With quality management, there is optimization of time and resources, which makes the team more efficient in carrying out their activities. Because of this, productivity increases and, consequently, the motivation of the employees, who become better able to face adversity.

Helps reduce risks

All projects have risk, but they can be reduced with good quality control, whether in project development or the final product. Quality management helps identify process failures and anything that could compromise its success.

By having the team act proactively regarding what happens in the project, there is also a reduction in problems, which are more easily identified, as well as their solutions.

Guarante customer satisfaction

Quality management is a tool that assists in achieving important objectives, such as meeting client needs, whether in relation to deadlines or costs. The idea is to offer not just a valuable product, but to exceed expectations, providing a high-level solution with an attractive investment.

As could be seen, quality management is of great importance for a good project management, because the end result is a satisfied customer, which is the main goal of every organization.
