In an interview with Portal HSM, Daniel Domeneghetti, Founding Partner of E-Consulting and CEO of DOM Strategy, addresses a fundamental issue in the context of corporate strategic planning. How can planned results be achieved? In the expert's view, for this success, known in technical terms as “delivering the strategy,” companies need to mature their strategic planning vision.
Commenting on the results of a study by Dom Strategy on the challenges facing the modern CEO, Daniel Domeneghetti states that the biggest one is making decisions that adequately balance the generation of results and value. Therefore, developing good strategic planning is fundamental, which, according to Domeneghetti, needs to go beyond what is routinely done in companies.
He mentions that the BSC methodology ends up being misused, leading to plans that are reduced to a wish list fed by managers. According to the specialist, strategy necessarily needs to think about how to reach a certain result and not just what goals to achieve. In other words, the path to successful strategic planning is the development of strategic maturity, with choices guided by the company's strategic vision.
