An increase of 15% in revenue compared to 2011. This is the projected growth for the Brazilian franchise sector for the year that is beginning. Last year, franchises, considering the national level, generated 86 billion reais in revenue.
One of the factors favoring the sector, in the view of the executive director of the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), Ricardo Camargo, is the heating up of the real estate market. In an interview with Portal Exame, the executive states that the search for commercial points becomes easier; likewise, the opening of malls in regions that did not yet have such developments causes the ABF to expect to increase the number of stores by up to 10%.
“The challenge is to maintain this accelerated growth. Competition is increasing with many industries adopting the franchise system, such as Valisere and MMartan,” observes Camargo in an interview with Exame.com.
“In 2012, we will repeat the dose based on a 15% revenue increase. Today there are 900 associated brands. By the end of December 2012, we should have 2,500 companies,” observes the ABF executive director, tying the market projection to the Exame.Com report.
