Many managers face the challenge of not having enough time to systematize the management of their organizations. How can you organize yourself to invest in strategy?

The current market scenario reveals a panorama full of challenges for organizations to overcome. Starting with increased competitiveness, networked operations, technological evolution and a shortage of resources, all of which trigger the need to invest in improving processes and results. Good organizational management relieves managers and allows them to think strategically about the company's direction, how to overcome challenges and, above all, how to avoid them. But how do you find the time to invest in strategic company management?

According to Priscila Nogueira, director of strategic alliances at Stratec, companies today have lean structures and a lot to do on a daily basis. It is therefore common to hear that there is no time to implement management in the organization. The urgent always seems to outweigh the necessary. To reverse this situation, she has a suggestion: "I recommend discipline. Block your calendar at least once a week. And start the implementation process. Plan, plan, plan. And stick to it. Planning and managing quickly will enable you to identify what's really important and reduce chronic problems that take energy and time to solve," she advises.

Organizations with management models structured around the business clearly identify what is and isn't important for the success of the business in the short, medium and long term, manage to coordinate internal initiatives and respond quickly and assertively to market opportunities and day-to-day problems. For Priscila, team coordination is also made easier, as people are able to understand more clearly what their contribution to the business is, self-adjusting their day-to-day focus.

According to Guilherme Barbassa, director of Stratec, the reality for companies today is that they are chasing productivity and have less time to plan. "Managers are busy running operations and end up not being able to think about strategy. And implementing a management practice requires a significant initial effort to create a plan and implement it," he says.

"Implementing a strategic management model should include planning long-term objectives, breaking them down into targets, drawing up action plans to achieve these targets and defining management practices to monitor the action plans and targets," Priscila points out. She points out that these activities, developed with discipline, can be carried out in one to three months, depending on the complexity and experience of the people leading the implementation. Always remembering that adjustments are natural over time, as knowledge about management and the organization increases.

It's important to note that as well as being a quick process to implement, the results can be seen instantly. "The result is immediate. If the implementation has been conducted correctly, with the involvement of the teams, and the management practices are being carried out with discipline, within the first month it will be possible to identify a greater alignment of organizational efforts," says Priscila. The financial results can be immediate or not, depending on the quality of the action plans that have been drawn up and their execution. Another factor to consider is the type of market in which the organization operates. Thus, organizations with longer operating cycles may take longer to see financial results. "But they will come, for sure," she confirms.

It's worth remembering that all strategic management needs discipline, information and communication in order to take place. The Strategic Management software supports managers in this discipline, scheduling meetings and alerting them to overdue actions and unmet targets. It also supports decision-making by providing information on targets, indicators and action plans in a quick, practical and visual way. And it enables communication and visibility to be guaranteed through the management screens at a glance, and personalized access to information at the most different levels of the organization. All this in a practical, fast and reliable way.
