Es un t\u00e9rmino que naci\u00f3 en los EUA, cuyo nombre completo es Employee Stock Options Plans o como tambi\u00e9n es conocido, Plan de Opci\u00f3n de Compra de Acciones para Empleados.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y eso es exactamente lo que es.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Stock Options no es m\u00e1s que una alternativa de remuneraci\u00f3n variable, generalmente ofrecida a gerentes y ejecutivos, vinculada al desempe\u00f1o de la propia empresa que ofrece esta opci\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El empleado pasa a tener la opci\u00f3n de comprar acciones de la compa\u00f1\u00eda en la que trabaja. No es obligado a adherirse al Stock Option y, por otro lado, debe pagar si lo escoge, recibiendo la contraprestaci\u00f3n de las ganancias obtenidas por la valorizaci\u00f3n de las acciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La empresa que ofrece el Stock Option debe dejar claro:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Periodo de gracia<\/li>\n<li>Valor de las acciones<\/li>\n<li>Plazo para ejercer el derecho de compra<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ventajas de la Stock Option<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La principal ventaja de la Stock Option es la de estimular empleados y ejecutivos de la empresa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A partir del momento que las ganancias de los empleados est\u00e1n vinculadas al desempe\u00f1o del negocio, ellos pasan a producir y rendir m\u00e1s.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Como son beneficios de largo plazo, eso permite retener profesionales por m\u00e1s tiempo, lo que reduce costos con despidos y admisiones y, en consecuencia, hace a la empresa m\u00e1s competitiva.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desventajas de la Stock Option<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para el empleado, existe incertidumbre en cuanto a la valorizaci\u00f3n de las acciones. Es un tipo de remuneraci\u00f3n que no permite vincular planes concretos para la vida, ya que los mercados en general son extremadamente vol\u00e1tiles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para la empresa, existe incertidumbre sobre si hay o no incidencia de impuestos en el uso de la Stock Option. No existe dispositivo legal en Am\u00e9rica Latina sobre el tema.
