Managers reveal what they are planning for next year
The end of the year brings with it a favorable climate for reflecting on the period that has passed and encourages new planning for the year to come.
For those who work in strategic management, this is a delicate moment, because transforming future expectations into reality requires an accurate diagnosis of what has already been done, a survey of the reforms that need to be implemented, and the creation of realistic plans for the future. However, it is this exercise that will help build the future of the business.
"A good planning you have to optimize the structure, the organization of the business, and go beyond the numbers, also thinking about strengthening the image and the brand in the market," says Sebrae-SP consultant Júlio Tadeu Alencar, in an interview with the portal.
After going through this process, the company has already defined the path it wants to take next year. According to Guilherme Barbassa, the company's director, 2014 will be a year of consolidating the internationalization that the company began this year, setting up offices in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. "Consolidating our presence in Latin America and starting to take our first steps in the USA and Canada is one of our objectives for next year."
As far as products are concerned, Barbassa says that they are already working on new products to be launched in 2014. "We intend to launch a line of HCM - Human Capital Management - which ends up having a lot to do with our current products. When it comes to strategic management, people are increasingly dependent on people and services for the strategy to be executed. What's more, people are becoming increasingly important in organizations. And they have realized this," he says. According to him, the new products are already under development and will cover functionalities such as a competency matrix, training management and performance management.
Pedro Oliveira, strategic planning analyst at Petros Engenharia, has also been through the review process at his company and is now planning the next steps. "The main point for improvement in our management model is related to strategy communication. Today, full access to strategic planning information is restricted to the Executive Board. Our intention for next year is to provide greater knowledge about the evolution of the strategic guidelines to the other levels of the foundation," he says.
He, who uses Gestão Estratégica software to carry out this planning and the company's performance evaluation meetings, says that the system will continue to drive management next year. "The software should support us in communicating and accessing information on strategic planning, as well as access to internal management indicators. This information will be available to senior management and the management team," he concludes.
The saying "in a blacksmith's house, the spit is made of wood" doesn't work at Stratec. Barbassa adds that they are also users of the software they produce. "Our entire strategy is consolidated in goalsThe company's objectives and projects in the GE - Strategic Management software.
